HotFix (2020.1202.0.0)

  • Adjusted the Export Service so that it shortens the names of Alternative Items to 100 characters.
    • We had to make this change becuase there is a bug in the validation engine on the E-Tool website where it throws a cryptic error if an alternative has more than 100 characters in its name.
    • The above mentioned bug exists despite the fact that the E-Tool website itself allows you to save alternatives with up to 200 characters and HUD said they increased the limit to 200.

HotFix (2020.1130.2.0)

  • Fixed a crash on the Interface caused by a couple of the new icons missing from Versa's embedded files.

New Features

  • Versa is now capable of exporting the Assessment Scope portion of the Salient Data to HUD's website when using the export feature.
    • Note that if you may get errors from HUD if something that is required is missing. This should be pretty obvious but if you get errors that are cryptic, please open a service desk ticket.

Improvements

Project Screen

  • Removed the obsolete HUD Program Event "Rad - PH" and added the 3 new ones that have replaced it.
    • If this program event is still being used on a project, you will get an error on exporting to the E-Tool and it will tell you to change it to whatever it is now supposed to be.

Property / E-Tool Details SCreen

  • FOR HUD PROJECTS ONLY - You can no longer have projects that require Federally Assisted or Is Elderly set to false if the HUD Program Event on the Project screen requires it.

Building Types Screen

  • The building type screen now specifies that if a building type is for a building that has no basements, you should select N/A for no basement.

Validation Flag Screen

  • We added more instructions to the validation flag screen. To view them, click the "Show Help" button on the ribbon or the Help / Information on the right side of the screen.

Export Screen

  • The export screen now validates the Project, Property / E-Tool Data, Building Types, Interface and Inspected Units before attempting to Export to the web.

    • This will stop exporting if you have the wrong settings for Federally Assisted / Is Elderly for your HUD Program Events, Missing Interface data, Units with bad floor numberes, etc.
    • Also now if you attempt to export a project that is using an obsolete program event for HUD (Rad - PH), you will be instructed to change it before you can export.
  • Added the ability to export just the salient data. So you can now export either components / alts / recs, salient data or everything.

  • Added the unit count number for the project to the right side of the Export Screen.

Inspected Units Screen

  • Fixed the column header for 504 UFAS Compliance.

  • Adjusted the column widths on the grid so that all columns should be able to be seen with default settings.

    • In order to make this possible, the toggle switches were removed and replaced with check boxes like on the Interface. The Add/Edit Panel hasn't been changed yet.

Interface Screen

  • The interface's scrolling performance has been improved tremendously by removing all of the toggle switches and replacing them with check editors on both the grid and the add/edit panel.

    • As a result of this, a couple of the column headers had to be re-worded since we cannot show custom text next to check boxes in the grid. The add/edit panel is unaffected.
  • The default and default no green views for the interface have been cleaned up and various columns that were not really needed have been hidden (I.E. Need Item, Need Category, TCO related columns).

    • You can still view the hidden columns and add them to a custom view using the column / band choser accessed via right clicking on a band or column header.
  • The "Non Standard RUL Values" group on the grid has been renamed to Utility / Usage Data since it only has columns related to utilties and usages now.

    • This does not seem to have any negative effect on the pre-existing views, but you may want to make sure your custom views are still correct. If they are not, you will need to adjust them using the column / band chooser and update it using the buttons on the ribbon.
  • Several of the check values now use custom icons on both the grid and the add/edit panel.

  • The "Scope of Required Replacement" column has been renamed to "Class of Work (Scope)" on both the grid and the add/edit panel since HUD no longer calls it the former.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug that was causing the Construction/Trades Contractor role for Participants to export to the E-Tool with a blank values.

  • Fixed a spot in the code that was not returning a more meaningful error message when using the sync flags feature on the Validation Flags screen and HUD's website failed to respond in a more timely fashion.

    • Note that this can and will happen from time to time as we have no control over the performance of HUD's website.
  • Fixed a similar spot to the previous item up above for the Component Export screen.

    • As noted up above, this can and will happen since HUD's website has poor performance and that is entirely their issue, not ours. You will get the same problems trying to use it, so there isn't much we can do about it 😟
  • Fixed a couple more spots on the new Select Component screen where unhandled exceptions could possibly occurr.

  • Fixed a bug where the "Unable To Enter" status for Inspected Units was not exporting correctly to the E-Tool.

  • Adjusted how Versa handles getting file paths from PM so that it displays a more useful error message instead of starting up aimlessly when the path to the PM folder is bad or the file server cannot be found (I.E. Computer is not on network or VPN connection is down).
